Please review this information about midterm grades, failing, withdrawal, and academic resources

Thursday, October 12th, 2023

Midterm grades provide an accurate picture of your academic progress so far this semester. Professors will be entering midterm grades between Oct. 14 and Oct. 18.

The last day to withdraw from a class in which you may be struggling without a graded responsibility is Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023. If you withdraw from a class, your transcript will show a “W.” If you do not withdraw and receive an F in the course, your GPA will suffer.

To check your grades in Canvas, log in to the Dashboard. On the right-hand side of the screen is a button titled “VIEW GRADES”. Here is a link to your Canvas Dashboard. If your professor has not yet given you a midterm grade, please contact them right away to find out where you stand in that course and have a conversation about your progress in the course.

Information regarding withdrawing from a class can be found here.

Students who received a D or an F on their midterms should contact their CAP coach as soon as possible to discuss the consequences of withdrawing from a class. If a student withdraws from a class, they should also contact their CAP coach to discuss their class schedule for future semesters. Follow this link to contact CAP coaches.

Academic resources for students are easily accessible on campus:

Students who fail all of their classes may have their financial aid package affected. If you have federal financial aid and are not passing any classes, please contact your student accounts advisor immediately.

If have any questions or need assistance, please contact studentlife@georgefox.edu.

Then, we’ll present everyone with a prompt / problem to solve and give your small group about 20 minutes to come up with the most creative, effective, or goofy solution to the prompt and “market” it to the rest of us with a couple of presentation slides.

What do you need to bring? Please bring yourself and a laptop (we’ll even give you a free Business Club sticker to put on it)!

Not a business student, but interested in joining us? Come see what we’re about!
