Extend the Be Known promise to Summer Visit Day guests tomorrow

Wednesday, July 12th, 2023

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will be hosting a Summer Visit Day on campus tomorrow (Friday). With around 450 visitors expected on campus, we are asking students and employees to help extend the Be Known promise throughout the day. Here’s what you can keep in mind:

  • Use street parking instead of campus parking lots. Guests will be arriving on campus at 8:30 a.m. and will fill the main campus parking lots.
  • All visitors will take a campus tour at 11 a.m. Be mindful of guests walking through main buildings on campus.
  • This event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude around 4 p.m.

If you have questions, email visit@georgefox.edu or call Lauren Hill at 503-554-2245.

Construction on Crisman Crossing area moves into next stage

Wednesday, July 12th, 2023

We’re excited to announce that construction is entering the next stage! Starting today (Thursday), the construction fencing around the end of Crisman Crossing will be updated. Crisman Crossing will no longer be accessible on the west side, as the entrance to the bridge will be updated to the new and improved pedestrian path.

An overview of the closed area can be seen here. The fencing changes will occur today and tomorrow, with construction beginning on Monday. Construction of the new pedestrian pathway will continue over the next three to four weeks in order to be completed before the students return for the start of the new academic year.

Please use the Hess Creek crossing via Beebe/Carey/Willcuts if walking to the other side of campus, to avoid the construction area. By starting now, we should have a beautiful pedestrian path to Crisman Crossing completed around the time of the August all-employee meeting.

If you have any questions, feel free to email plant services at plantservices@georgefox.edu.
