Make plans to see this year’s fall drama, ‘The Potting Shed’

Tuesday, October 17th, 2023

The university’s performing arts department will present The Potting Shed by Graham Greene this fall in Wood-Mar Auditorium. Check out our show times:

  • Preview Night: Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 26-28, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m.
  • Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 2–4, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m.

Synopsis: When estranged son James returns for his father’s funeral, the Callifer family finds their staunch unbelief turned upside down as secrets from the past disrupt the present. Unearthing lost childhood, James is confronted by the best and worst of his family history, leading him inexorably toward the startling truth. What happened in the potting shed all those years ago? And why has it led the Callifers to reject their youngest son? Is there room for belief in a family of skeptics?

Legendary novelist Graham Greene addresses these questions and more in a taut, engrossing drama, described by the New York Daily News as “an intellectual detective story.”

Students and staff can claim their free ticket by visiting our website at georgefox.edu/box-office. Student tickets are free for Wednesday or Thursday nights; staff tickets are free for any night.
