The soccer team has expanded and connected with local schools like OSU, Willamette and others to play friendlies and eventually do a spring tournament.
We are hosting tryouts tomorrow (Friday) at 8:30 p.m., along with having our normal pick-up game. All are welcome to try out at the Austin Sports Complex.

Join us for a special visit from guest Michael Wear, founder, president and CEO of the Center for Christianity and Public Life, as he shares a lecture based on his recent book, which applies insights from the tradition of Christian spiritual formation to questions of politics, citizenship and public life. The title of his presentation is “Spiritual Formation and the Renovation of Our Politics.”
Wear will speak at 7 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) in Hoover 105.

Looking to serve foster children and children with disabilities? Foster Parents Night Out (FPNO) is an event held once a month where volunteers can buddy up with foster kids, providing a safe and fun space while foster parents get a night off.
Kids Day Out (KiDO) is an event held four times this year where volunteers get to care and supervise kids with disabilities to give families a time of respite.
Background checks and trauma-informed training are both required, so it’s important to sign up before our training date: Thursday, Sept. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Hoover 105. Volunteers can apply by filling out this form.

You are invited to join the Office for Spiritual Life (SpiL) for an off-campus retreat during the mid-semester break from Thursday to Saturday, Oct. 3-5.
These retreats are thoughtfully designed for a small group of 10 to 12 students. While there, participants can expect to enter into a slower pace to engage in various spiritual practices that refresh their mind, body and spirit. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to create connections with fellow students and staff, fostering a sense of community and support.
You must fill out an application to express interest in attending. You will receive a confirmation email to let you know if you have been selected to attend, and then you’ll pay $20 to secure your spot. This money covers food, lodging and transportation.
The last day to sign up is Monday, Sept. 30. Follow this link to apply. Chapel credit is offered for those who attend.

The Office for Spiritual Life is again hosting Life Groups this fall (Sept. 16 through Oct. 28)! Life Groups are small groups of undergraduate students who meet together for prayer, Bible study and fellowship.
Groups meet weekly (for eight weeks) for 60 to 90 minutes. Life Groups through the Office for Spiritual Life will also be SpiL-credit eligible. To sign up, please fill out this form by this Thursday, Sept. 12.

All George Fox students and staff (and guests) are invited to attend a free performance tonight (Monday) in Wood-Mar Auditorium, while space allows. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the performance will start at 7:30 p.m., running for one hour.
Lewis & Tolkien: The Baptized Imagination is playful, thoughtful and deeply inspiring. Come join us for this exciting journey into the world of imagination.

Do you love George Fox and want to help visiting students decide if this is the place for them? Apply to be a University Ambassador! University Ambassadors, or “Ambies,” are current George Fox students from a variety of majors, grade levels, and other involvements.
As an ambassador, you will volunteer your time for two hours per week. You will share about your George Fox experience through campus tours, overnight hosting, event day greeting, and more. You will also get to attend a weekly meeting and a fall retreat to the coast to connect with your fellow “Ambies!”
