Why register for Summer Online?

Monday, March 3rd, 2025

Summer Online is a great way to get ahead without sacrificing your summer. You can register for up to three courses, which run from June 2 to July 27.

Five reasons to sign up this summer:

  1. Save time. Earn full credits in eight weeks – half the length of a normal class.
  2. Save money. Summer Online courses are less than half the price of traditional undergraduate classes.
  3. Stay flexible. Watch lectures and complete assignments when it’s convenient for you, thanks to an online asynchronous format.
  4. Learn from experts. Courses are taught by real professors, and our Be Known promise applies online, too.
  5. Get ahead. Create space in your fall schedule, and stay on track to graduate in four years (or less!).

Register today on MyGeorgeFox or learn more at georgefox.edu/summer.

Student support needed for Math Community Club

Sunday, March 2nd, 2025

We are excited to announce George Fox’s proposed Math Community Club, an organization that will promote fellowship and community-building among those who enjoy mathematical play, exploration, discussion, etc. The club will host events like themed games, competitions, presentations and educational outreach.

Our goal is to foster a Christ-centered environment where students build meaningful relationships with one another while exploring the world of mathematics and data analytics. Through collaboration, creativity, and intellectual growth, we aim to inspire each other to think critically, act with integrity, and serve with passion as we grow together in both knowledge and community.

If you would like to acknowledge your support for this club, please fill out this one-minute form and leave a signature that will contribute to the student body support needed to make the Math Community Club a reality.

Thank you for helping our George Fox community grow. See you soon at one of our events!

Changes coming to GFD Cornerstone courses in fall 2025

Sunday, March 2nd, 2025

Starting in the fall 2025 semester, GFD Cornerstone courses will be held in two eight-week sessions each semester. This means that if you sign up for a GFD Cornerstone course, it could start and end on one of the following dates:

  • Session 1: Aug. 25 to Oct. 19, 2025
  • Session 2: Oct. 20 to Dec. 12, 2025

Because these courses will be eight weeks instead of 16 weeks long, the pace will be more accelerated than an in-person Cornerstone course – so be ready to engage with the content and keep a close eye on the weekly deadlines.

Check out this short video for more info!

When registering for classes next year, be sure to pay attention to which session you sign up for and plan accordingly!

Please review this information about midterm grades, failing, withdrawal, and academic resources

Tuesday, February 25th, 2025

Midterm grades provide an accurate picture of your academic progress so far this semester. Midterm grade entry starts Saturday, March 1, and ends on Wednesday, March 5.

Follow these instructions to check your midterm grades in MyGeorgeFox. If a professor has not yet given you a midterm grade by Wednesday night, check Canvas or contact your professor to find out where you stand in that course.

Students who are earning a D or an F at midterm should meet with their professor to discuss what they can do to improve their grade. If it is unlikely you will pass, you should contact your CAP coach and financial aid counselor as soon as possible to discuss the consequences of withdrawing from a class. Some students should not withdraw from any classes due to VA benefits or other factors; it is always best to confirm the effects before withdrawing from a class.

If you withdraw from a class, you should contact your CAP Coach to discuss your class schedule for future semesters.

The last day to withdraw from a class without a graded responsibility is Sunday, April 28. If you are not likely to pass a class, withdrawing earlier might help you be more successful in your other classes. If you withdraw from a class, your transcript will show a “W” and the course will not affect your GPA. If you do not withdraw and receive an F in the course, your GPA will suffer.

Information about withdrawing from a class can be found on this web page; instructions for withdrawing from a class can be found there as well.

Academic resources for students are easily accessible on campus:

Students who fail all of their classes may have their financial aid package affected. If you have federal financial aid and are not passing any classes, please contact the student accounts office immediately at studentaccountsdir@georgefox.edu.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact studentlife@georgefox.edu.
