Scholarship Summit is today: Please welcome our guests

  • Be mindful of guests in your living area. There will be housing tours circulating through Edwards, Gulley, Pennington, and HMS from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tour groups will be viewing dorm lobbies and a room on the first floor of each dorm.
  • Plan for a busier than usual Canyon Commons. Guests will use the main server line and will be encouraged to dine in CCD 101-103. If you see a family looking for a spot to sit, invite them to join you!

Maker Hub’s ‘Tool Tip Friday’: Ring Roller

Thursday, January 27th, 2022

Did you know that the Maker Hub has a Ring Roller? Our Baileigh Ring Roller is a machine used to roll metal into a ring by forcing the material through rollers, also called dies.

The rollers can be adjusted to change the formed radius. The maximum mild steel machine capacity is 1/4-inch x 1-inch flat bar or 1/2-inch round rod. The minimum diameter you can form is 2.75 inches. Check out this video to see how a Ring Roller works!

The Maker Hub exists as a resource and creative outlet for the entire George Fox community (yes, including non-engineers!). We are looking for student aces. A student ace is simply an expert on a piece of equipment who helps train other students on the usage of that equipment and gains extra privileges within the Maker Hub.

Questions? Contact Anika Perry at perrya20@georgefox.edu.
