Join in fun of ‘Humans vs. Zombies’ next week

Wednesday, September 1st, 2021

Do you have what it takes to survive a zombie outbreak?

The Tactical Adventure Games Club (TAG) is hosting a week-long game of Humans vs. Zombies! It is essentially a week-long game of tag. The humans struggle to survive while the zombies attempt to infect the humans, turning them into more zombies.

Humans vs Zombies is the same game that we play in the “Bruins vs Foxes” event hosted every year by Student Activities. We’ll still be having Bruins vs Foxes in the spring as usual, but there’s no reason we can’t play Humans vs. Zombies as well!

The official rules and sign up can be found here.

The game will begin this Monday, Sept. 6, and continue until Friday afternoon, Sept. 10.

Can you survive a whole week and claim the prizes for your efforts?
Can you infect the most humans and reap your rewards?
Only one way to find out!

If you have any questions or would like clarification, email Zach Cogswell at zcogswell18@georgefox.edu.

Join in Maker Hub game night tonight

Wednesday, September 1st, 2021

The Maker Hub would like to welcome back the whole Fox community with a fun game night tonight (Thursday) from 4 to 7 p.m. This will include vintage Atari video games and boardgames.

We are also encouraging folks to bring their own gaming consoles and hook them up to the flat-screen TVs in the meeting rooms. LAN party in the computer lab, anyone? No need to RSVP, just show up!

This event will also double as a Quiz Party. You may be aware that you need to pass a Canvas quiz to gain access to the Maker Hub (link found on the Maker Hub wiki page). But don’t worry, the quiz is not a requirement for the game night; the doors will be propped open.

We are treating it like an open-house event, so bring your friends, have fun, look around, ask questions, and take the quiz if you would like to get connected with the Maker Hub.

Please contact Nick Sullivan (nsullivan@georgefox.edu) if you have questions.

Mask policy for Chehalem Aquatic & Fitness Center

Wednesday, September 1st, 2021

George Fox has purchased group memberships for the Chehalem Aquatic and Fitness Center (CAFC), meaning all undergraduate students and university employees are able to use the facility.

If you choose to take advantage of this benefit, please note that CAFC has a more restrictive mask policy than we have in our university fitness areas. Masks are required in all areas except in the pool. Face shields are considered acceptable face covering, but must be worn even while working out.

The policies are in place to protect the large senior population who go to CAFC, so please be respectful of the face-covering requirements when using the facility.

If you have any questions, please email Bill Buhrow at bbuhrow@georgefox.edu, or call CAFC at 503-538-7454.
