Be aware of policies concerning bicycles on campus over the summer

Monday, April 11th, 2022

Campus Public Safety will be conducting its annual bicycle roundup starting Wednesday, May 4. If you are staying on campus over the summer and plan to keep a bike here, please come to Campus Public Safety to get a sticker ID so your bike will not be removed.

Here are a few more things you should be aware of:

  • At the end of spring semester, a university-wide bicycle cleanup is done. Bicycles that are illegally parked, unregistered or inoperable are impounded. Bicycle racks need to be cleared to do routine maintenance to the bike racks and surrounding areas.
  • Bicycles may not be stored on campus during the summer semester. Bicycle claims can be made at the Campus Public Safety office.
  • Students using their bikes during the summer must move their bikes to the nearest rack of their summer housing.
  • Bicycles not picked up from the impound lot within 60 days will be forwarded to local charities at the discretion of the Campus Public Safety office. Junk bicycles will be recycled.
