We get it: You have a lot going on at the moment. The Thanksgiving holiday is right around the corner, followed by finals and the end of the semester. But alas, it is also time to start thinking about your financial aid for next year (or even next semester).

The good news is, we want to help! The financial aid office is offering a “Help Me Hangout” in Canyon Commons 101 from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Nov. 18. We will have coffee, donut holes from Sesame Donuts, and cookies for anyone who stops by.

Whether you have a quick question about financial aid, need help with your FAFSA, or are looking for scholarship applications, we want to see you. You can pop in for a quick minute as you’re passing through, or you can sit with us and work while you wait between classes.

Grab a roommate or friend, your laptop, and come see us so you can get your financial aid taken care of for next year and enjoy your upcoming break!

Our market research class is analyzing grocery delivery service and is conducting a survey to get the general public’s thoughts to see what their experiences were like when ordering groceries online with any service or app.

Chelsea Thomas, a biomedical engineer from Stryker Inc., will join us for a virtual guest seminar today (Thursday).

Thomas will share her background and career path, touching on the biomaterials concepts she studied and worked on as a quality engineer. Check out this week’s episode of George Fox Talks, in which Abigail Favale hosts David French for a discussion on the political climate in the U.S. and where it’s headed. The two explore the psyche of the average American voter, and French shares his tips for choosing which candidates to support.

They also touch on abortion and the Christian’s response, politically and otherwise. French is senior editor of The Dispatch and a columnist for Time. Join University Recreation for an easy bike ride to Ewing Young Park in Newberg from 3 to 5 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 12. We’ll also do a hike at the location. OREC will provide bikes, helmets and other supplies at no charge.

If you have your own bike, you are welcome to use it for the ride. Our ride to the park will be about a mile each way, and the hike will only be around one mile in length. This is a great activity for meeting new people and exploring Newberg. We hope to see you there!

Do you have stress, aches, pains, or just want to feel relaxed? Come by to get a massage from a doctor of physical therapy student and receive free stress management advice!

Our mission is to improve our community’s health by offering discounted massages to students ($15), employees and community members ($20). We are offering 25-minute massages from 3 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 22, in the new Medical Sciences Building, located at 448 Werth Blvd., in Newberg.

We will be taking all the current precautions related to the delivery of healthcare during COVID-19.
