Reminder: Deadline to withdraw from classes is this Sunday

Monday, March 14th, 2022

Please be aware that the last day to withdraw from a class with a “W” grade is this Sunday, March 20. If you review your mid-semester grades and think that it is in your best interest to withdraw from a class, you must do so in MyGeorgeFox by 11:59 p.m. on March 20.

Withdrawal from a class records a “W” grade on your transcript. A “W” grade does not impact your GPA. However, reducing your number of completed courses this semester may affect future semester planning.

Be sure to check in with your faculty advisor or CAP coach if you have questions.

Join in discussion at Forum on Faith and Sexuality today and tomorrow

Sunday, March 13th, 2022

The Cultural Enterprise invites the entire campus community to a Forum on Faith and Sexuality today (Monday) and tomorrow in Canyon Commons.

The two-day event features three widely acclaimed authors: Wesley Hill, Eve Tushnet and Nancy Pearcey. Our hope is to provide stimulus for thoughtful dialogue with pressing questions of human sexuality and Christian faith through the testimony and ideas of these presenters.

There will be three keynotes as well as a panel, all with opportunities for engagement from the audience. Obviously these questions are complex and discussion of them increasingly fraught, but our hope is to demonstrate Christlike concern for people and truth.

Here is the schedule:

  • Monday, March 14, 7 p.m.: Wesley Hill
  • Tuesday, March 15, 1:30 p.m.: Eve Tushnet
  • Tuesday, March 15, 7 p.m.: Nancy Pearcey, followed by panel featuring all three speakers

Survey: Native American/Indigenous Resilience

Sunday, March 13th, 2022

We are conducting a PsyD dissertation research project, “Resilience and Cultural Connectiveness within the Native American/Indigenous Population,” and would appreciate your feedback. It will take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete our survey.

We are looking for participants with any Native American/American Indian Indigenous heritage. The purpose of this research is to show how resilience/strength, cultural identity, spiritual identity, and cultural connectiveness are reflected within the Indigenous population.

At the end of the survey is the option to enter a raffle (rewards include three $100 Visa gift cards) as a thank you. We have received IRB approval through George Fox, and as a tribal partnership project we place an emphasis on participant safety and a culturally humble approach to Indigenous research.

Thank you for considering participation in our research. If you have any questions, concerns or feedback, please feel free to contact Winston Seegobin at wseegobin@georgefox.edu or Lindsay Price at lprice18@georgefox.edu.
