The Maker Hub’s Injection Molding Machine by LNS Technologies is not as scary as it sounds. Located in The Vault, this machine is used to heat up plastic and inject it into a mold. This machine is primarily used to make prototype parts or a low-production of parts due to the machine’s size. Check out this video to see how it works, and visit the Maker Hub’s Wiki page for more information.
The Maker Hub exists as a resource and creative outlet for the entire George Fox community (yes, including non-engineers!). We are looking for student aces. A student ace is simply an expert on a piece of equipment who helps train other students on the usage of that equipment and gains extra privileges within the Maker Hub.
Please email makerhub@georgefox.edu if you would like to get connected or have any questions.

Bruin Preview is tomorrow (Friday), so prepare for our guests!
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will be hosting about 600 visitors for the event. We are asking George Fox students and employees to help extend the Be Known promise throughout the day. Here’s what to keep mind:
- Use street parking instead of campus parking lots. Guests will be arriving on campus Friday morning between 8 and 8:30 a.m., and will fill all the main campus parking lots.
- Be mindful of guests in your housing area. We will have housing tours circulating through Edwards, Gulley, Pennington and HMS from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tour groups will be viewing dorm lobbies and a room in each dorm.
- Plan for a busier-than-usual lunch in Canyon Commons. Guests will be going through the main server lines and will eat in the main dining area. If you see a family looking for a spot to sit, invite them to join you!
- Sixty prospective students have opted to stay overnight tonight before the main event! Be mindful and welcoming of prospective students to be in your on-campus living areas starting at 5:30 p.m. tonight.
If you have questions, email visit@georgefox.edu or call Lauren Hill at 503-554-2245.
