A Student Art Exhibition is coming to the Minthorne and Lindgren galleries! It will run from Monday, March 9, to Friday, April 10.
A reception is scheduled for Monday, March 9, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., with awards being given out at 4:30. This year’s juror is Hester Coucke, arts curator from the Corvallis Art Center.
A “Salon des Refuses” will also be held from Monday, March 9, to Friday, April 10, at Friendsview Retirement Community. This exhibition features works that were not selected for the student exhibition, and is curated by arts administration majors Megan Nipp and Lauren Lunt.

The exercise science department is recruiting individuals over the age of 55 who are not regularly involved in group exercise in order to obtain data for a senior research project. It is a four week long commitment.

OREC is hosting a training on how to use backpacking stoves on Tuesday, March 10, at 8:30 p.m. We will cover basic stove operation, field maintenance and some advanced techniques and tricks for cooking better meals. Sign up on imleagues.com to reserve a spot.
This training is part of the initiative leading up to the OREC Trail Food Cookoff on Tuesday, April 7. This event will involve two-person teams vying for the title of best backcountry chef. Come to a panel on Title IX on Monday, March 30, at 7 p.m. in Canyon Commons to kick off Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This panel is an opportunity for students and staff to openly address on-campus assault and other topics surrounding Title IX.
Participants will be able to listen to the panel members answer frequently asked questions, including their different roles in the Title IX process. The audience will have the option to ask their own personalized questions to the panel members as well. Chapel credit for this event is pending.

Help raise awareness for individuals living on the autism spectrum by being in our video project! A student composer has put together a team of students and alumni to create a multimedia work to raise autism awareness. Join us on Friday, March 6, at 8 p.m. to be featured in the video.
We are looking for people of all ages to participate in the video. There will be no spoken dialogue required, just footage of individuals stepping into a spotlight. If you have an Autism Spectrum Disorder, if you know someone with autism, or if you just want to help raise autism awareness, then please join us.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and there will be several important events happening on campus to promote awareness and education. A team of Title IX deputy coordinators and students are planning the events for the month.

Join us for a special guest appearance by Dolores Huerta, the woman who cofounded the National Farm Workers Association with César Chávez in the early 1960s and who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Obama in 2012.
Huerta will give a presentation on Sunday, March 8, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, and the doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Huerta has worked for labor rights and social justice for more than 50 years. This presentation will provide an inside look at the farm worker movement and its historical ramifications for today. She will speak to what the movement was all about and her role in it, and address what activism is and how it can effect change.

Want to know what time is best for your body to exercise? Want to help out two students with their senior seminar projects? Then we have a study for you!
We need volunteers to participate in a study that relates the time of day exercise is performed to sleep quality. Participants of all fitness levels may choose two days of the week to exercise in the morning hours, rest a day, and then work out two days in the evening hours. They will then track their sleep with an app.

This June, the university’s physical therapy department is taking a medical service trip to Ghana and Uganda to team up with the local healthcare organizations to treat diverse conditions in underserved communities.
To help raise funds for the trip, a banquet will be held on Saturday, April 11, at 5 p.m. in Canyon Commons. Tickets are $30 and include dinner and a silent auction of various basket items!
