Important vehicle registration information

Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019

While all commuters and graduate students were automatically charged for a parking permit through Student Accounts, all student drivers still need to register to receive their parking permits. This isn’t done automatically because we don’t know which vehicle you might be bringing to campus.

After you have registered your vehicle through MyGeorgeFox, please print out the temporary permit from the link in your confirmation email and place that on your dashboard. This will serve as your permit until your permit sticker arrives in the mail in the next three weeks.

A parking brochure will arrive with your permit, but until then, be sure to check the Campus Public Safety webpage to learn where you can park.

Parking facing the wrong way or blocking driveways and mailboxes can result in hefty fines from the police department. Please be courteous as you park.

Additionally, Campus Public Safety is not responsible for parking information you receive from anyone but us. Drivers are responsible for knowing the George Fox parking policies and adhering to them.

Employees: Help us out by sharing this information with students you know.

Questions? Contact Campus Public Safety at 503-554-2090 or email Elrike Shaw at eshaw@georgefox.edu.

Avoid roped-off areas in the quad

Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019

You may have noticed that areas in the quad have been roped off. This is for your safety. Please stay clear of the marked areas as we trim the elm trees to keep them healthy.

Work started yesterday (Tuesday) and may continue until tomorrow (Thursday). After the trees have been trimmed, Plant Services will be removing the debris. Please avoid going through the marked areas until all trip hazards have been removed.

Questions? Contact Dixie Downey at ddowney@georgefox.edu.

Hadlock climbing wall updates

Thursday, August 29th, 2019

Bouldering is available anytime the student center is open, and roped hours are Monday through Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. All climbers will need to update certifications for the new academic year.

For bouldering, you’ll need to complete the new gym orientation process prior to using the facility. This will include watching this Climbing Wall Orientation video and taking a short assessment before being cleared to climb. Bouldering certifications from the previous year will be honored through Sept. 1.

If you’re looking to use the ropes, please check in with the climbing wall staff during designated hours for a belay assessment, or sign up for a Belay Fundamentals class through IMLeagues.com if you’ve never climbed before.

We’re excited to see you come in and try all the new routes! Questions? Email studentcenter@georgefox.edu.
