Patrons are asked to continue to exercise caution by wearing a well-fitting mask over the nose and mouth, giving other people space while exercising and moving about the facility, and wiping down equipment after use.

Inappropriate behaviors on campus and personal safety tips

Monday, March 8th, 2021

Recently some non-students were attempting to interview students with a microphone taped to a sex toy. These individuals were caught. We do not condone such behavior and always investigate to the best of our abilities to prevent or stop inappropriate activities on campus.

While there are many things in the world that are concerning, we want you to know you do not have to go through it alone. When harassment, bullying, bias-crimes, assault, sexual violence, theft of property, or other issues occur, we want you to know that Campus Public Safety is only a phone call away.

In an ongoing effort to ensure our community is a safe place to both learn and work together, your Campus Public Safety Department wants to remind you of some resources, such as Fox’s anti-harassment policy and personal safety guidelines, should you ever feel unsafe on our campus.

As always, we have officers on duty 24/7. Call immediately at 503-554-2090 should you ever feel unsafe or witness a crime.

Questions? Contact Elrike Shaw at eshaw@georgefox.edu.

Reminder: Face coverings required in all buildings on campus

Sunday, March 7th, 2021

Please remember that face coverings are required in all buildings on campus. The COVID Operations Team receives daily reports of face-covering non-compliance in the Bruin Den in Klages.

We have recently posted signs reminding our community of this requirement. Please remember to pay attention to seating requirements in the booths. Unfortunately, if we continue to have reports of non-compliance in the Bruin Den, we may be required to close this space.

Thank you for helping to keep our campus safe and open for use.

Policies regarding COVID compliance can be found on this website. If you have any questions, please contact Jere Witherspoon (jwitherspoon@georgefox.edu) in the student life office.

Join library’s workshop, ‘Research Beyond the Databases,’ tomorrow

Sunday, March 7th, 2021

Academic research articles are great, but there are a lot of other things out there that can help you with your research project too! Join librarian Jenny Bruxvoort to learn more about using books, background sources, and high-quality information available outside of the library in your research.

The workshop will be held via Zoom at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday). Register for this workshop and others at this link.

This semester, the library is offering a series of workshops to help the Fox community navigate our increasingly digital library environment. Each workshop will be taught by a different librarian, making these sessions an excellent way to refresh your skills, learn something new, or hear an old concept in a new way.

Questions? Contact Kate Wimer at kwimer@georgefox.edu.
