Remember to park in designated areas and utilize Morse lot

Thursday, September 19th, 2024

Campus Public Safety has begun issuing citations this week. We are aware that parking is limited, so check the map for your parking areas.

Extra space is always available at the Morse lot, located by the baseball fields. This lot is on the outer edge of campus, and is ideal if you are not using your vehicle often. This will free up space for students who use their vehicles often for work, appointments, etc.

Please note that Campus Safety is available to shuttle students after dark, especially to and from the Morse lot.

Please register your vehicle if you have not done so already.

Contact CPS at 503-554-2090 or campussafety@georgefox.edu if you have any questions.

Part of Stevens lot will be closed for construction starting Monday

Thursday, September 19th, 2024

Construction of the new parking area will begin on Monday, Sept. 23. In order to ensure space for the equipment to move, the first section of parking in the Stevens parking lot will be closed.

There is parking available in the Morse parking lot if you would prefer to park on the other side of campus during construction.

For questions and concerns, contact ddowney@georgefox.edu.

Human rights activist Ekemini Uwan speaks on Newberg campus tomorrow night

Monday, September 16th, 2024

The Department of Social Work invites you to an event, “Social Work Fall Diversity Dialogue: Public Theology and Public Policy for Racial Justice with Ekemini Uwan,” tomorrow (Wednesday) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Hoover 105.

Uwan is a public theologian, international human rights activist, and coauthor of the 2023 NAACP image award nominated book Truths Table: Black Women’s Musing on Life, Love and Liberation. She serves as the special advisor for The Aspen Institute’s Racial Justice and Religion Collective.

Uwan is a charter member of the International Civil Working Group of the Permanent Forum for People of African Descent at the United Nations and is a reparations activist whose work spans the globe, as she has advocated for global reparations on behalf of Africans and African descendants on the floor of the United Nations three times.

Meet us in front of the Chehalem Cultural Center at 10:30 a.m. to join the cause.
