Get ready to embrace the spirit of trick or treating with our “Well-being Boo Bash” employee adventure, brought to you by the George Fox University Wellness Committee!

We’re taking the excitement of the season and adding a dash of well-being to create an unforgettable experience. Administrative assistants, please sign up your department today at this link, and do so by Wednesday, Oct. 18.

After your department has been signed up, everyone interested in your department who wishes to participate in the bingo game should fill it out between Oct. 23-27. Finally, all bingo game participants will submit their cards to enter a raffle for prizes.

Here are the details:

When: Oct. 23-27

Objective: Discover how each department contributes to individual well-being and meet other employees in their offices as you earn sweet treats and spread the spirit of fun and connection!

Get your walking steps in as you make your way around the Newberg campus and Medical Science Building (previously Werth Building) all week, and the Portland Center on Thursday.

The Game: We will use a bingo card with a delicious twist. Each bingo card square represents a department committed to participating in the game. The College of Business will have (plastic) axe-throwing for stress relief, and biology will have a community art project you can join as examples.

Think of your own unique well-being tradition or tip to share with the community. The bingo cards will be released in The Daily Bruin on Monday, Oct. 23.

The Magic Line: On the far-right column, there’s a magic line. Completing this line by visiting specific, physically distanced departments will earn you a double entry into the prize drawing.

Portland Center Spotlight: The Portland Center will be best to visit on Thursday.

Prize Bonanza: At the end of the adventure, we’re holding a grand prize drawing for all participants. The more lines you complete, the more chances you have to win fantastic prizes that will make you smile with delight!

Early Bird Treats: Be among the first 10 departments to sign up for “Well-being Boo Bash,” and you’ll receive a $30 allowance for treats to make your department’s station even more exciting and enticing! Sign up today here, and please sign up by Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Don’t miss out on the adventure of the year! Get ready to trick or treat your way to well-being with our “Well-being Boo Bash.”

Please review this information about midterm grades, failing, withdrawal, and academic resources

Thursday, October 12th, 2023

Midterm grades provide an accurate picture of your academic progress so far this semester. Professors will be entering midterm grades between Oct. 14 and Oct. 18.

The last day to withdraw from a class in which you may be struggling without a graded responsibility is Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023. If you withdraw from a class, your transcript will show a “W.” If you do not withdraw and receive an F in the course, your GPA will suffer.

To check your grades in Canvas, log in to the Dashboard. On the right-hand side of the screen is a button titled “VIEW GRADES”. Here is a link to your Canvas Dashboard. If your professor has not yet given you a midterm grade, please contact them right away to find out where you stand in that course and have a conversation about your progress in the course.

Information regarding withdrawing from a class can be found here.

Students who received a D or an F on their midterms should contact their CAP coach as soon as possible to discuss the consequences of withdrawing from a class. If a student withdraws from a class, they should also contact their CAP coach to discuss their class schedule for future semesters. Follow this link to contact CAP coaches.

Academic resources for students are easily accessible on campus:

Students who fail all of their classes may have their financial aid package affected. If you have federal financial aid and are not passing any classes, please contact your student accounts advisor immediately.

If have any questions or need assistance, please contact studentlife@georgefox.edu.
