Important mid-term grade information for undergraduate students

Thursday, February 23rd, 2023

Midterm grades provide an accurate picture of a student’s academic progress so far this semester. The last day to withdraw from a class without a graded responsibility for a class a student may be struggling in is Sunday, March 19.

This means that if a student withdraws from a class, their transcript will show a “W.” If they do not withdraw now and ultimately do not pass a course, their GPA will suffer.  More information regarding withdrawing from a class can be found here.

Mid-term grade entry starts Saturday, Feb. 25, and ends after Wednesday, March 1.

Students who received a D or an F on their midterms should contact their CAP coach as soon as possible to discuss the consequences of withdrawing from a class. If a student withdraws from a class, they should also contact their CAP coach to discuss their class schedule for future semesters. They can follow this link to contact CAP coaches.

Other resources for students are easily accessible on campus:

If a student needs help or has any questions, or needs assistance, they should contact studentlife@georgefox.edu.

Students who fail all of their classes may have their financial aid package affected. If they have federal financial aid and are not passing any classes, they are to immediately contact their financial aid and/or student accounts advisor.

All invited to showing of student’s stop-motion animation film tonight

Thursday, February 23rd, 2023

Hello all! My name is Gabriel Messing, and I’m a music industry major. I am premiering my senior capstone project at 7 p.m. tonight (Friday) in Hoover 105, and I invite you to come!

This project, a 25-minute stop-motion animation, is the product of nine months of filming, editing and scoring. That’s right, I composed a completely original score for this film. With an action-packed war between green and tan army men, gut-wrenching scenes, and dramatic dialogue, this is a film you won’t want to miss!

I hope to see you there! And if you have any military friends/relatives, please invite them. Military will be receiving priority seating.

Contact me at gmessing19@georgefox.edu with any questions.

‘Thank you, athletics, for a highly successful food drive’

Tuesday, February 21st, 2023

It takes a great team working together to accomplish something extraordinary. Thankfully, we have 20-plus great teams.

On Feb. 14-16, the university’s athletic teams conducted a food drive to benefit the Bruin Community Pantry. While the women’s tennis team brought the most items (1,742), other teams really stepped up and added a significant amount of food to the pantry.

I am grateful beyond words to the athletic department administration who made this event a priority for the student-athletes.

Thank you EVERYONE who contributed time, money and energy to support the Bruin Community Pantry food bank and Grab & Go programs.

Sincerely,
Jere Witherspoon
