Don’t get locked out of your account while traveling abroad

Sunday, December 17th, 2017

Are you leaving the country for the break or traveling outside the U.S.? Has it been a while since you changed your account password?

The IT department recommends that you change your password before heading to a foreign time zone or an area where internet and phone service is less accessible.

Should you need any assistance, the Service Desk will be available from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday over the break. The university will be closed Dec. 25-27 and Jan. 1.

Questions? Contact Piper Parks (pparks@georgefox.edu).

Be sure to check out historic exhibits around campus

Sunday, December 17th, 2017

There is a new museum exhibit in the Hoover-Hatfield Library (Hoover 104) highlighting historic items and pictures from our baseball, cheer, football, volleyball and men’s basketball teams from the 1920s to early 1970s. Feel free to stop by (when there are not meetings or classes in session) to view the exhibit.

As a reminder, there are historic Christmas and New Year’s cards as well as other historic objects in cases on the first floor of the Stevens Center. In the museum cases in Canyon Commons, there is a small exhibit on how students spent their free time in the early 20th century.

If you have questions about any of these exhibits, please contact Caitlin Corning (ccorning@georgefox.edu).

Donate to Newberg School District students at tomorrow’s all-employee meeting

Tuesday, December 12th, 2017

The Office for Spiritual Life has become aware of a need in the Newberg School District with regard to the upcoming holiday break. Forty-eight percent of students in the Newberg School District participate in the free lunch program, and 168 of the students experience homelessness.

Over the winter break, these children and families will have difficulty getting the meals that they need. The spiritual life office is collecting monetary donations and gift cards to local grocery stores and restaurants to aid our neighbors during the Christmas holiday. The last day to submit gift cards and/or donations to the Office for Spiritual Life is tomorrow (Thursday). A donation box will be available at the all-employee meeting.

Contact Kearsten McCoy (kmccoy@georgefox.edu) if you have any questions.

Thank you!
