Every seven years George Fox University is evaluated by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) to ensure that we comply with their requirements and standards, and to collect evidence that we serve all students and employees well.
Our next visit, which will be virtual, is scheduled for April 6-7, 2021. Along with individual interviews with key people, there will be three open forums for George Fox community members to share experiences and information with the evaluation team.
Each forum is designed for a different audience: students (grad and undergrad), staff, administrators, and faculty. The forums are currently scheduled during these times for 50 minutes each:
Students: Wednesday, April 7, at 11 a.m.
Staff/Administrators: Tuesday, April 6, at noon
Faculty: Tuesday, April 6, at 3 p.m.
Please plan to attend if at all possible, as we are hoping for a wide range of input for the team. Watch The Daily Bruin for Zoom links to your designated meeting time.
For more information, please contact Linda Samek, accreditation liaison officer, at lsamek@georgefox.edu.

Thank you to all who have so generously contributed to the Meal Train for professor Andrew Moses and his family. We hear he is doing well after his surgery, and we will continue to pray for a successful treatment and recovery for him.
Just a reminder that you can still sign up to deliver the meals directly, or order them via a restaurant or grocery store. You can also send gift cards (the email address to use for this purpose is provided on the Meal Train page).
Get the most out of the library databases by learning how to speak their language. Join librarian Kate Wimer to learn some of the tricks of the trade to search powerfully and efficiently.
We’ll cover the basics of Boolean as well as some of the more obscure operators. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 24, at 10 a.m. via Zoom. Register here.
This semester, the library is offering a series of workshops to help the Fox community navigate our increasingly digital library environment. Each workshop will be taught by a different librarian, making them an excellent way to refresh your skills, learn something new, or hear an old concept in a new way.

Please be aware that Richter Scholars program proposals are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 5.
The Richter Scholars program at George Fox distributes funds to support student research activities that are devised, initiated, and carried out by individual student researchers, with mentorship, guidance, and expertise provided by a faculty mentor.
The purpose of these funds is to support educational research opportunities that encourage the practices of independent thought leading to independent achievement and personal responsibility. For the purpose of this program, research is defined as a knowledge-generating activity that is designed to provide new information on a topic, tool, or process, and that proceeds according to established and accepted research methods.
Before preparing a proposal, please read through the full proposal guidelines, eligibility requirements, and review criteria on this page.
Faculty mentors: Please note that several important proposal elements and eligibility requirements have been recently updated. Please thoroughly read through all posted documentation as you work with your student mentee to prepare a proposal.
