Did you know that the Maker Hub has a photo table?
The Maker Hub’s Ortery PhotoBench is a device that enables users to take still photos, 360 photos, and videos of various products and items on flat white backgrounds. The photo table is perfect for creating professional-grade product photos for projects and presentations. Check out this video to see how it works!
The Maker Hub exists as a resource and creative outlet for the entire George Fox community (yes, including non-engineers). We are looking for student aces. A student ace is simply an expert on a piece of equipment who helps train other students on the usage of that equipment and gains extra privileges within the Maker Hub.
Please email makerhub@georgefox.edu if you would like to get connected or have any questions.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will be hosting Scholarship Summit on campus tomorrow (Friday). With around 350 visitors expected on campus, we are asking George Fox students and employees to help extend the Be Known promise throughout the day. Here’s what you can keep in mind.
- Use street parking instead of campus parking lots. Guests will be arriving on campus Friday morning between 7:45 and 8:30 a.m. and will fill all the main campus parking lots.
- Be mindful of guests in your housing area. We will have housing tours circulating through Edwards, Gulley, Pennington, HMS, and Brandt from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tour groups will be viewing dorm lobbies and a room on the first floor of each dorm.
- Plan for a busier-than-usual Canyon Commons. Guests will be going through the main servery line and will be encouraged to dine in CCD 101-103. If you see a family looking for a spot to sit, invite them to join you!
Questions? Email visit@georgefox.edu or call Lauren Hill at 503-554-2245.

The university’s Department of Mathematics is hosting the annual Pacific Northwest Section Meeting of the Mathematical Association of America in mid-March.
As part of the event, we invite everyone to the opening lecture, “Geometry of the Earth and Universe with The Simpsons and Futurama,” by Dr. Sarah Greenwald, professor of mathematics at Appalachian State University, at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 17, in Canyon Commons. The event is free and geared toward students and the public.
Did you know that the animated shows The Simpsons and Futurama contain hundreds of humorous mathematical and scientific references? A few of these references connect to the geometry of spaces, and we’ll use them to explore some historical and current theories relating to the earth and universe during an interactive talk.
Popular culture can reveal, reflect and even shape how society views mathematics, and with careful consideration of the benefits and challenges, these programs can be an ideal source of fun ways to introduce important concepts and to reduce math anxiety (see SimpsonsMath.com).
For more information, visit the event website or contact Corban Harwood at rharwood@georgefox.edu.

The Apologetics Initiative and the C. S. Lewis Initiative invite you to a special presentation by Dr. Paul Lorenzini’s, “C.S. Lewis’s The Abolition of Man Eighty Years Later: An Engineer’s Perspective,” at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 13, in Hoover 103.
Eighty years ago, Lewis published his most highly regarded book, The Abolition of Man, in which he critiques the secularization of Western cultures and warns that, unchecked, the consequences for modern humanity are significant and destructive.
By comparing Lewis’s projections with modern cultural critiques, Dr. Lorenzini asks how a revived view of Lewis’s analysis might inform a modern apologetic. All are welcome to join us for this thought-provoking presentation.
Please reach out to Emma Rieth at erieth@georgefox.edu with any questions.

With only 25 boxes of macaroni and cheese left on the shelf, the Bruin Community Pantry is in desperate need of this popular food item. Many college students have not learned the fine art of cooking, and this food item is a staple for their food cupboard.
As you know, food supply chains are greatly interrupted, and this has affected the Oregon Food Bank’s ability to procure this item. Generic brands have the best price.
If you would prefer to purchase through Amazon, please use the Bruin Community Pantry wish list on Amazon, available here.
Please have these items delivered to the food bank in Roberts 109 during our hours of operation, which can be found here. Thank you so much for your help!
Please contact Jere Witherspoon if you have any questions at bruincommunitypantry@georgefox.edu.
