Calling all student-athletes: Join Mental Health Forum tonight in Canyon Commons
Calling all student-athletes! Please join us as we dive deeper into topics that are very relevant to you and your mental health. We’re hosting a forum in Canyon Commons 101-103 tonight (Wednesday) from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Our hope is that this roundtable session leads to great conversation around breaking the stigma of mental health, equips you with tools to feel confident in handling a mental health crisis, and provides resources that will benefit the health and well-being of your team.
Topics include:
- Anxiety and depression
- Masculinity
- Body image and self-esteem
- Athlete burnout
- “More than an athlete” (unraveling identity from sport)
- Methods of self-care
- Caring for teammates who have experienced trauma/mental health, and
- Healing and growing from your past
You can pick and choose the topics that you want to learn about. Come in, pick a table that has the topic you want, talk and listen for 15 minutes, and then head to the next table. There will be a doctoral student leading each table.
Faculty: Please let your student-athletes know about this session.
