Gather for Martin Luther King Jr. Day event

All are invited to attend the Martin Luther King Jr. Day event at the Chehalem Cultural Center on Monday, Jan. 20. Doors open at 5:30 p.m with the program beginning at 6 p.m.

Leroy Barber will be the keynote speaker, with the Christopher Brown Jazz Quartet and Newberg Ballet Folklorico performing during the program. Following the program, breakout sessions on issues of race, poverty and justice will be led by Oregon Humanities Conversation Project facilitators. Also, a breakout session for high school students will be led by Guadalupe Garcia McCall, a George Fox assistant professor of English.
