Comings and Goings
Kristin Bontrager joined the math, engineering and computer science department to serve as an administrative assistant. During the past year, she has moved between Oregon and Tennessee, working as president and chef for The Mustard Seed Catering Company and as an office assistant and physical education teacher at C.S. Lewis Academy in Newberg. She was previously an administrator and physical education teacher at Willow Hall Academy in Franklin, Tenn., in 2006-07. Kristin earned a degree in medical assisting from Skadron College in San Bernadino, Calif., in 1994. She lives in Newberg with her children – Maddi, Jordan and Cameron – and attends Newberg Fellowship.
Amy Ocker, employed as the university’s science outreach coordinator from 2001 to 2004, has returned to George Fox to serve in the same position. In the four years since she last worked on campus, Amy has been a science instructor at Westside Christian High School in Lake Oswego. She also gained teaching experience at George Fox as an adjunct lab instructor for the biology department in the early 2000s. Amy earned both a bachelor’s degree (biology) and a master’s degree (MAT program) from George Fox. She lives in Dundee with husband Jared (an employee in IT), and they have an adopted daughter from India, Sunita Ruth. Amy attends 2nd Street Community Church in Newberg.
Erin Macy (Admissions) left the university to travel throughout Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, New Zealand and Africa with her husband, John. Their blog can be read at johnanderinmacy.com. They plan to travel for nine months and do some missions work during the trip.
