Fox Alert Emergency Notification System will be tested this week

Students, staff and faculty: Just a heads-up that there will be a test sometime this week of the Fox Alert Emergency Notification System. If you have NOT registered your phone to receive these alerts, please go on MyGFU to your personal information page, and register it underneath the “Fox Alert” tab.

GFU has implemented the service to provide us with the ability to reach students and staff members with information and updates during unforeseen events or emergencies, within minutes, through phone calls, e-mails and/or text messages.

In the unlikely event of an emergency you would be potentially notified through three different methods:

1. Cell phone
2. E-mail
3. Text message

HOWEVER, for either of these methods to work YOU must enter your personal contact information in your MYGFU account.
Here’s how you do it!

– Login to your MYGFU account
– Click on SELF SERVICE
– Click on CAMPUS PERSONAL INFORMATION
– Click on PHONE NUMBERS
– On the PHONE TYPE pick list, choose the phone type you are registering.
– Type in your contact information
– Click SAVE
– If you need to add a number, first click on ADD A PHONE NUMBER
– Make sure you click SAVE after each change.
