Job hunting tips, recruitment strategies provided at Oct. 7 event

The School of Business invites the university community to its next Speaker Series event, “Job Hunting Tips and Recruitment Strategies,” scheduled from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, in the Portland Center’s Room 155.

Presenters Annette Nemetz and Alan Timmins collectively have recruited, screened, interviewed and hired hundreds of job candidates throughout their respective 20-plus years in executive and managerial positions. As seasoned hiring managers, they will share ideas on how to put your best self forward when looking for that next managerial position.

Topics to be covered include what should and should not go in your resume; the role of networking in a job search; the effective use of social media; job hunting etiquette, including dress and courtesy issues; identifying target employers; ideas on negotiating compensation packages; and, most importantly, what hiring managers really look for in a future employee.

There is no cost for the event, but registration is required. You can get more information and/or register here.

Seating is limited; 20 seats are still available.
