Gemini AI tip: Try out NotebookLM

Monday, March 31st, 2025

Have you tried NotebookLM yet? NotebookLM is a popular AI-powered tool that summarizes complex information and generates an interactive AI assistant that can answer your questions about the source material.

With it, you can upload websites, videos, documents, and even audio files. The result is like an interactive podcast complete with AI narrators and the ability to interrupt and ask questions. NotebookLM is available to all employees and accessible at notebooklm.google.com.

Check out our artificial intelligence website for more information and resources to help you explore AI and use it in your work and research. Many of you have already shared your experiences using NotebookLM, so we have included two “featured” Notebooks on the site.

We are looking forward to hearing about the creative ways you use Gemini! Please share your stories with us at servicedesk@georgefox.edu.

In-person BruinBuy training offered on campus next week

Monday, March 31st, 2025

Hello all! As announced at our March all-employee meeting, the Unimarket team will be on-site from April 7-9 to provide in-person training on BruinBuy, our new eProcurement system.

We will be offering three sessions for Browsers and Buyers, and two sessions specifically for Approvers. To ensure everyone is on the same page, here’s a quick reminder about the Unimarket roles:

  • Browser: Shops the Marketplace, creates incomplete requisitions with or without accounting strings, reassigns requisitions to a Buyer, and requests new suppliers
  • Buyer: Shops the Marketplace, creates requisitions (including those reassigned by a Browser), and requests new suppliers. Once a Buyer submits a requisition for approval, the funds are encumbered.
  • Approver: Reviews and approves or declines requisitions submitted by Buyers, ensuring that purchases are reasonable, authorized, and comply with the approval process.

Please use the following links to sign up for the appropriate session based on your role:

Please remember to bring your laptops to the session. Please direct your questions to Frank Charles at fcharles@georgefox.edu.
