Please review this information about midterm grades, failing, withdrawal, and academic resources
Midterm grades provide an accurate picture of your academic progress so far this semester. Midterm grade entry starts Saturday, March 1, and ends on Wednesday, March 5.
Follow these instructions to check your midterm grades in MyGeorgeFox. If a professor has not yet given you a midterm grade by Wednesday night, check Canvas or contact your professor to find out where you stand in that course.
Students who are earning a D or an F at midterm should meet with their professor to discuss what they can do to improve their grade. If it is unlikely you will pass, you should contact your CAP coach and financial aid counselor as soon as possible to discuss the consequences of withdrawing from a class. Some students should not withdraw from any classes due to VA benefits or other factors; it is always best to confirm the effects before withdrawing from a class.
If you withdraw from a class, you should contact your CAP Coach to discuss your class schedule for future semesters.
The last day to withdraw from a class without a graded responsibility is Sunday, April 28. If you are not likely to pass a class, withdrawing earlier might help you be more successful in your other classes. If you withdraw from a class, your transcript will show a “W” and the course will not affect your GPA. If you do not withdraw and receive an F in the course, your GPA will suffer.
Information about withdrawing from a class can be found on this web page; instructions for withdrawing from a class can be found there as well.
Academic resources for students are easily accessible on campus:
Students who fail all of their classes may have their financial aid package affected. If you have federal financial aid and are not passing any classes, please contact the student accounts office immediately at studentaccountsdir@georgefox.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact studentlife@georgefox.edu.
