Hanging baskets event has been postponed

Swing by the IRC this afternoon to wish D’Metri Mattocks well

Please join us in bidding farewell to D’Metri Mattocks today (Tuesday) from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Intercultural Resource Center (located to the south of Pennington Hall; look for the red door).

It will be an open-house format with a moment to offer encouraging words at 2 p.m. We hope to see you there!

Check out the patio specials at the Bridge Cafe this week

Please join us in the Bridge Cafe for our weekly patio specials. Every Tuesday and Thursday we will be cooking up specials out on the patio; if the weather is rainy, we will be set up inside.

This week, our specials are:

  • Tuesday: Smoked fried chicken wings with white gold sauce
  • Thursday: Grilled steak sandwiches

Both Tuesday and Thursday we will also have the “Bridge Barbecue” with hamburgers and hot dogs.

We also have the GET Mobile App set up for summer. You can order the patio special ahead if you are short on time.

Come help build hanging baskets for the quad this Wednesday

Come help us build our beautiful hanging baskets that adorn the quad! Lots of artistic license is encouraged, and many plants are available for the artists’ pallet.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. this Wednesday, May 8, and last until approximately noon. Please drop in as your time allows during those hours. We will be meeting at the Plant Services/Thomas Center building at 1101 Villa Road.

Tables, and a few chairs, will be set up in our lower yard. All basket-building materials and tools will be provided. We are looking forward to seeing all of you there!

Finance office is closed today for move

The finance office is moving! We will be moving to 1515 Portland Road (previously the Providence Sleep Center Building). The current finance office will be closed today (Monday) for this move.

We plan to remain as close to our normal operating schedule as possible and ask for your patience as we re-organize in our new space on Tuesday, May 7.

Yamhill County candidates share the stage tonight in Hoover 105

The three candidates for Yamhill County commissioner – incumbent Lindsay Berschauer and challengers Bubba King and David Wall – will share the stage in Hoover 105 tonight (Thursday) to discuss the issues facing the county and their plans should they win election to the County Commission.

District attorney candidate Kate Lynch and county sheriff candidate Sam Elliott, both of whom are running uncontested, will also each make a brief presentation about the issues they will be facing and their plans for their upcoming terms in office.

The public is invited to attend the session, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at or near 8 p.m. The session will also be live-streamed at this link, and a video recording will be available as soon as it can get posted.

The event is being hosted by the George Fox Civility Project in partnership with the Newberg City Club and the Newberg/Dundee United As Neighbors groups.
