Heat advisory in effect for today
According to the National Weather Service, the region is under a heat advisory for today (Wednesday). Temperatures are expected above 91 degrees in some areas and will range between 87 to 90 degrees for the remainder of the week. The region also is in a critical fire weather pattern.
If you are working in a building without air conditioning or outdoors, please schedule work during the coolest parts of the day. Take advantage of cooler buildings such as the Murdock Library, Klages, or Canyon Commons.
Also, stay hydrated by drinking water every 20 minutes. During the hottest part of the day, check on fellow employees every hour to two hours, and familiarize yourself with the symptoms of heat-related illnesses.
