Register now for the ‘Rocktoberfest’ climbing competition

University Recreation is hosting its annual fall rock-climbing competition at the Hadlock Student Center on Friday, Oct. 29! This event is a day of fun and friendly competition that is suitable for climbers of all skill levels. In fact, the majority of climbers are beginners and/or are in their first year of climbing consistently.

All George Fox students, employees, and UREC members are invited to participate in this competition. If you’re interested, please register here by Thursday, Oct. 14, to guarantee you get a properly sized T-shirt and to secure the climbing time that you want.

Climbing sessions are now 90 minutes each. The event will last from 3 to 10 p.m., and an award ceremony with door prizes will be held at 9 p.m. All climbers are encouraged to come back. Costumes are also highly encouraged for the competition, as it will be Halloween weekend.

The competition costs $10, which helps cover the cost of the T-shirts that all competitors will receive. Unfortunately, there is no way to register without this fee. However, we do have sponsorship spots available if anyone is struggling financially but would still like to participate. Please let us know. Likewise, let us know if you would like to sponsor a climber.

Competition rules and details can be found here.
