Compete in food and clothing drives to win donuts

Only one group has entered the Bruin Community Pantry’s food and clothing drive competitions so far. Sadly, our food bank shelves are nearly bare as more and more students are in need of food. Please consider gathering people in your department to participate in this event!

Enter the food drive and the clothing drive for the Closet Project and win Mac Daddy Donuts for your group! The competition is open to all student clubs, residence areas, and offices on campus. See the details below:

  • The drives will begin on Friday, Feb. 7, and end at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24.
  • The food will be weighed and added to your group’s totals, and the group with the most pounds of food by Feb. 24 will win. All food items must be unopened, unused and nonperishable. Please check out this list of items to donate.
  • The group with the most clothing donated by Feb. 24 will win the clothing contest. Clothing will be counted per item and added to your group’s totals.
  • All clothing items must be clean. Accessories such as purses, belts, and scarves are acceptable, as well as gently-used clothing of all styles.  Professional clothing is especially needed.
  • The drop-off location for your food donations will be at the pantry in Roberts 110 on Mondays and Fridays from noon to 1 p.m. The-drop off location for clothing will be the Bruin Store.

If you would like to participate or have questions, contact Jere Witherspoon (jwithers@georgefox.edu) before tomorrow (Friday).
