Interested in mentoring a high school student?

Catalyst Alternative High School (CAHS) in Newberg is looking for eager mentors for students. Students come to Catalyst for a variety of reasons, including anxiety, depression and social pressures. Many of these students long to have a one-on-one relationship with someone they can trust and look up to. We are looking for mentors who can commit to fall and/or spring semester.

CAHS is looking for people who are:

  • Committed to building relationships with students
  • Willing to be proactive and initiative
  • Passionate about working with youth
  • Attentive listeners
  • Encouraging and supportive
  • Positive role models

As a mentor, you could be a consistent figure who guides them through obstacles in their school, home, social and academic life. Mentors would meet with students for about one hour a week between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Catalyst building, located a mile and a half from George Fox. There is transportation available if needed.

Interested? Please contact Christian Hughes (chughes15@georgefox.edu).

Thank you for your time and consideration!
