About Our People

Clyde Thomas, along with Fred Smith and Jesse Dillow (Plant Services), recently attended the annual meeting of the Yamhill Soil and Water Conservation District, where they accepted on behalf of the university the YSWCD’s 2013 Urban Conversationist Award. The honor was for work to combat soil erosion in the university’s Hess Creek Canyon – work that entailed removal of 13 acres of non-native invasive vegetation; constructing walking trails; conducting stream clean-up; constructing three bio-falls to dissipate energy and reduce erosion from storm water inlets located on the canyon walls; planting native plants; excavating fish alcoves; topping live trees; and placing large logs and root wads for wildlife habitat.

Nancy Fawver (Registrar’s Office) was named November Employee of the Month.
