The library is excited to announce a new database for our community: Bridgeman Education. This image database is quite robust and should be helpful to faculty and students alike.
About Bridgeman:
Bridgeman Education is a brand of Bridgeman Images, the worlds leading supplier of rights managed art, culture and historical images. The Bridgeman Education database is an invaluable research, teaching and learning tool: a unique archive of digital images sourced from the world’s leading museums, galleries, contemporary artists and private collections.
You can use these licensed images in your slide decks, printed projects, etc. within a GFU context. Uses not permitted include any commercial activity or distributing images beyond GFU (see linked Terms & Conditions). This link also includes citation examples (please make sure to cite the images you use).
For help creating slideshows, zooming in, and advanced search functionality, this User Manual is quite helpful with numerous screenshots and examples.
This database features content beyond art history, including fine arts, design, engineering, geography, medicine, sciences, history, religious studies, music, geography, and so much more! Materials include frescoes, oils, engravings, lithographs, prints, manuscripts, ceramics, photographs, sculpture, architecture, landscapes, portraits, patterns, etc.
