Virginia Millage passed away at 59 years old on March 25, 1992. In her honor friends and family created a memorial fund for the creation of a rose garden; which is now located outside of the Lemmons building and is named after Virginia Millage. Virginia was an education major who graduated in 1954. Although she did not attend George Fox she and her husband Don were a large part of the George Fox community. Don was the vice president of financial affairs from 1972 to 2001 when he retired. Virginia and Don opened their home to students in need, and Virginia became a beloved friend of many Fox students and faculty. After her passing, the Don and Virginia Millage Memorial Endowment was also created for education majors in memory of Virginia.
