Lindgren Gallery is named after Donald H. Lindgren (1923-2013), who was the architect behind the designs of twelve different buildings on George Fox’s campus between the years of 1962 and 1986. He designed the original Shambaugh Library (now the MLRC), Pennington Residence Hall, the Calder Center (now the Lemmons Center), Heacock Commons in the Student Union Building, Hobson, Macy, and Sutton Residence Halls, the Hoover Academic Building, the Ross Center, Bauman Auditorium, and the Video Communication Center.
The gallery was built at the same time as Bauman Auditorium as the second part of the Ross Center, and for the first years of its life, it was unofficially named the Ross Gallery. In 2000, it was renamed the Lindgren Gallery to honor the long-standing George Fox architect.
Lindgren gallery is located in the hall separating the Ross Center and Bauman Auditorium. Today, it showcases the student senior thesis for art majors, as well as other art pieces from visiting artistsĀ and those in the community.
