Jesse Edwards House

The Jesse Edwards House, built in 1883, is the second oldest residence in the city of Newberg. The first being the boyhood home of the former U.S. President Herbert Hoover and his adoptive family. The Jesse Edwards House was built by Jesse Edwards, known as the “Father of Newberg” and one of the founders of Pacific College(George Fox University). Jesse Edwards remained a Pacific College Board member until his death in 1924, serving 34 years. 

In later years the home was purchased by descendants of the Edwards family and gifted to George Fox University in 1998. The home has been extensively remodeled.

The Jesse Edwards House is used as the residence for George Fox University Presidents and their families.
