Rose Garden

The Virginia Millage Memorial Rose Garden was dedicated to George Fox in 1992 after Virginia Millage passed away.  The Rose Garden was gifted as a memorial fund which was put together by Virginia’s friends and family. She graduated in 1954 in Elementary Education.  After she passed, the Don and Virginia Millage Memorial Endowment was put together as a scholarship for Elementary Education majors. Although she was not an official member of George Fox, she became friends with thousands of students, faculty, and staff. Her husband, Don, was the vice president of Financial Affairs beginning in 1972 and retired from Fox in 2001. They opened their home to students who needed a temporary place to live, for campus guests, and visitors. She was also involved in the Friends Church. She died on March 25th, 1992 of brain cancer at the age of 59.  Her memorial was held in Bauman. The Rose Garden is to honor her memory.
