It’s easy to identify and cite Creative Commons licensed resources with OpenAttribute, a project of Mozilla Drumbeat. Download the free add-on for Firefox and when you are viewing a page with Creative Commons content a CC icon will display in the location/address bar. Click on the CC symbol and a dialog box appears, click on “more information” and select either HTML or plain text to view a properly formatted citation. Copy and paste into your bibliography.

This add-on is also available for Chrome but works best in Firefox at this time. Add-ons for Drupal and WordPress are in the works.
