Birds of North America Online is available through GFU libraries. It provides comprehensive life histories for each of the 716+ species of birds breeding in the USA (including Hawaii) and Canada. Can’t find a species? Keep in mind that the BNA series covers only the breeding birds of North America, a region defined as the 50 US states plus Canada. Birds that pass through this region, as vagrants or regular migrants, are not covered by BNA — unless they are regular breeders in the US or Canada.
