About Ordering Dissertations

If you ever need to order a dissertation through InterLibrary Loan (ILL) services here is some helpful information:

When the ILL request is made for a dissertation the library first tries to obtain that dissertation on loan from another institution.  If the dissertation is not available for loan then the library will try to locate it through ProQuest’s dissertation service.  When a dissertation is available through ProQuest you will be notified and asked if you are willing to pay $15.50 for the dissertation.  If you are willing to pay then the order will be placed.  The dissertation will arrive in about a week and it is yours to keep.

The dissertations through ProQuest cost $33.  The library pays for the first $17.50 of all ILL transactions for all GFU patrons with no limit on the number of ILL requests that you can make.
