Plastic Logic Reader

The Plastic Logic Reader is set to enter the market in various trials and pilot programs in the second half of 2009.  Pricing information will become available sometime in 2010.  The upcoming reading gadget will have supporting software for Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Mac OS X.  The touchscreen will be in grey scale and it will support markup and annotation features.  Like the Kindle, battery life is excellent and it provides wireless access to content.  The display is made of flexible plastic substrates which makes it thinner and lighter than glass silicon displays.

It will support the following file types:

  • Portable Document Format (PDF)
  • DOC(X)
  • XLS(X)
  • PPT(X)
  • TEXT
  • RTF
  • HTML
  • JPEG
  • PNG
  • BMP
