Its purpose is to bring the George Fox community together. The original schedule consisted of four main activities, a girls volleyball game, a banquet served for the students, faculty, and alumni, and a play called \u201cPoly\u2019s Hero\u201d that was accompanied by musicals and speeches following the ceremony.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, homecoming is a three-day celebration beginning with a dinner on Friday, followed by a men\u2019s soccer game and a volleyball game. \u00a0A football game on Saturday morning takes place at the pinnacle of the celebration. Significant activities begin on Saturday with a class reunion. The Tailgate party also takes place on Saturday before the football game, it is here that you can network with George Fox Alumni and also enjoy community with your peers. Later in the day, there is a women\u2019s soccer game following the football game. Finally, on Sunday to conclude the celebration there is one last soccer game that takes place. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">FUN FACTS ABOUT HOMECOMING:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the end of each homecoming celebration photos from May Day and Halloween were shared among the attendees. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 1971\u2019s homecoming hosted the first queen\u2019s coronation. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, the queen\u2019s coronation is no longer made. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is an official homecoming committee that works together to put on the celebrations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Homecoming is a tradition that has been celebrated since 1932.
