Synopsis: <\/strong>When estranged son, James, returns for his father’s funeral, the Callifer family finds their staunch unbelief turned upside down as secrets from the past disrupt the present. Unearthing lost childhood, James is confronted by the best and worst of his family history, leading him inexorably toward the startling truth.<\/p>\n

What happened in the potting shed all those years ago? And why has it led the Callifers to reject their youngest son? Is there room for belief in a family of skeptics? Legendary novelist Graham Greene addresses these questions and more a taut, engrossing drama, described by the New York Daily News<\/em> as “an intellectual detective story.”<\/p>\n
