{"id":90704,"date":"2023-03-08T14:26:29","date_gmt":"2023-03-08T22:26:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.georgefox.edu\/ennounce\/?p=90704"},"modified":"2023-03-08T14:35:24","modified_gmt":"2023-03-08T22:35:24","slug":"hear-about-athlete-mental-health-at-tonights-forum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.georgefox.edu\/ennounce\/2023\/03\/08\/hear-about-athlete-mental-health-at-tonights-forum\/","title":{"rendered":"Discuss and learn about athlete mental health topics at tonight&#8217;s forum in Wheeler"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey Bruins, today (<strong>Thursday<\/strong>) we are hosting a mental health forum in Wheeler Gym at <strong>7 p.m. <\/strong>Please join us as we dive deeper into topics that are very relevant to you as athletes!<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll cover the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding and dealing with athlete burnout<\/li>\n<li>Eating disorders and body image<\/li>\n<li>Anxiety and depression<\/li>\n<li>How can we make competition healthy?<\/li>\n<li>Ways to handle the pressures of being a student-athlete<\/li>\n<li>How to grow away from being \u201cjust an athlete\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Healing and growing from the past<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can pick and choose the topics that you want to learn about. Come in, pick a table that has the topic you want, talk and listen for 15 minutes, and then head to the next table. There will be a doctoral student leading each table.
