A warning before you buy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the Christmas season upon us, many will take advantage of the phone deals being offered. If you get a new phone, here is what you need to know so you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t lose access to your George Fox email, Canvas, Zoom or other apps that use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).<\/p>\n<p>If you only use Okta Verify (soon to be required for VPN) or Google Authenticator, the app will transfer to your new phone but not the settings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Before purchasing a new phone<\/strong>, make sure that you have one of the following methods also set up:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SMS Authentication (text message)<\/li>\n<li>Voice Call Authentication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can have multiple methods active at the same time. To learn more, read this <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1x4-SXoB8t7dJoQhScWjt_PGZZ24HFE1J9iQvNOJftVA\/edit\">Multi-Factor Authentication: Set up a Second Authentication Method<\/a> document.<\/p>\n<p>You will not be able to use Okta Verify or Google Authenticator until you go through the setup process again. <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/10FLGnf4NhkMpfV6ke6VEXWsavov7Pzlw9b_zYfR-Vns\/edit\">Here are the directions to set up Okta Verify and\/or Google Authenticator<\/a> when you have a second method setup.<\/p>\n<p>If you got a new phone and activated it without SMS or Voice Call set up, then you must contact the Service Desk.<\/p>\n<p>Questions regarding MFA?
