{"id":74665,"date":"2021-01-21T13:09:55","date_gmt":"2021-01-21T21:09:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.georgefox.edu\/ennounce\/?p=74665"},"modified":"2021-01-21T13:10:22","modified_gmt":"2021-01-21T21:10:22","slug":"updated-policy-on-face-coverings-including-face-shields","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.georgefox.edu\/ennounce\/2021\/01\/21\/updated-policy-on-face-coverings-including-face-shields\/","title":{"rendered":"Updated policy on face coverings (including face shields)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">George Fox has updated its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.georgefox.edu\/covid19\/policies\/face-coverings.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.georgefox.edu\/covid19\/policies\/face-coverings.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1611349280125000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHkjt0KFhYDk6Wt7h_Vm8ySrt03lw\">face-covering policy<\/a> to meet <a href=\"https:\/\/sharedsystems.dhsoha.state.or.us\/DHSForms\/Served\/le2288K.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/sharedsystems.dhsoha.state.or.us\/DHSForms\/Served\/le2288K.pdf&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1611349280125000&amp;usg=AFQjCNH0DmEH051yOsdNgZ16KKvexOTasQ\">new state guidelines<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Students, faculty, staff, vendors and visitors must use face coverings when in the following locations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Enclosed public and common areas<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Outdoor areas where physical distancing is not easily maintained<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Face covering\u00e2\u20ac\u009d means a cloth, polypropylene, paper or other face covering that covers the nose and the mouth and that rests snugly above the nose, below the mouth, and on the sides of the face. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/prevent-getting-sick\/about-face-coverings.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/prevent-getting-sick\/about-face-coverings.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1611349280125000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEuqLP-2Ncu-hbfYv0QM13fLUOkuA\">Appropriate face coverings<\/a> include two-layered face masks or gaiters.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The following are not approved face coverings because they allow droplets to be released:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Masks with valves or vents for exhalation<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Lace masks or other coverings with openings, holes, visible gaps in the design or material<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Masks with valves or vents for exhalation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Face shield\u00e2\u20ac\u009d means a clear plastic shield that covers the forehead, extends below the chin, and wraps around the sides of the face.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/zitan-Reusable-Protective-Transparent-Restaurant\/dp\/B08JQKRSFQ\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/zitan-Reusable-Protective-Transparent-Restaurant\/dp\/B08JQKRSFQ\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1611349280125000&amp;usg=AFQjCNH9jHs8GuXV4gv4a08_o7kevNklMQ\"> Mini face shields<\/a> that only cover the mouth are not permitted.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Face shields may be used:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">When presenting in front of a class or audience so long as you maintain six feet of distance at all times.\u00c2\u00a0 If you are closer or likely to be closer than six feet, you must wear a face mask.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">For employees who have work spaces that are cubicles or in common areas without a door, provided they maintain at least six feet of distance from others (they must put on a face mask when working with another individual in their workspace or if they leave their workspace).<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">If you have a medical condition preventing masks<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">If you are working with the hearing impaired so they can lip read<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Employees and students should switch back to face masks when not in the above four circumstances.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>George Fox has updated its face-covering policy to meet new state guidelines.
