The Department of Art and Design is hosting an art exhibit and silent auction of faculty artwork from Monday, Oct. 26, to Friday, Nov. 13<\/strong>. Proceeds received will seed a new scholarship the department is creating for underrepresented art and design students of color and other marginalized student populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The silent auction will take place online from Wednesday, Nov. 4, to Friday, Nov. 13<\/strong>. More info on it can be found on George Fox’s social media as well as the Department of Art and Design’s Instagram<\/a> closer to the auction date. Parents, students and alumni will also be emailed information at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Art and Design is committed to creating a community that emphasizes the diversity of God\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s kingdom, cares for and nurtures the diverse perspectives reflected in our student body, and uses visual communication as a conduit for conversation, celebration, and the examination of contemporary social issues.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our goal is that this scholarship will work to remove some barriers for art and design students who are in underrepresented populations of our community, in order that access to a rigorous, high-quality, nurturing, and professional Christian art and design education is available to more students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Information regarding the artwork: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exhibit contains a variety of mediums, some of which are: paintings, photography, printmaking, illustration, ceramics, and design. Artists in this exhibit include Gary Buhler, Jeff Cameron, Douglas Campbell, Burkhardt Kleiber, Adam Long, Tessa Sargent, Jillian Sokso, Mark Terry, Tim Timmerman, Seth Van Der Eems and Brandon Waybright.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
