Paige was among a group who led professional development opportunities for their peers nationwide by offering their expertise and guidance into incorporating new educational practices and pedagogical approaches to teaching quantitative biology. Paige\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s particular Faculty Mentoring Network, which she has led for two years now, is titled \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Teaching with R in Undergraduate Biology\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and focuses on reducing barriers to implementing R programming in biology courses for students with little to no prior programming experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeff Walters<\/strong> (Engineering) continues to work on projects to promote water, sanitation and hygiene programs in countries that include Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Cambodia,\u00c2\u00a0Nicaragua, East\u00c2\u00a0Timor\u00c2\u00a0and Chile,\u00c2\u00a0along with investigating\u00c2\u00a0how to integrate systems-thinking within engineering education. Recently, in connection to his work in this area, he gave a webinar talk for the Research in Global Design Seminar Series for Engineering for Change on his research, engaging Ethiopian, Kenyan and Ugandan water and sanitation stakeholders in systems-thinking and systems-modeling workshops. A recording of the webinar\u00c2\u00a0can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engineeringforchange.org\/webinar\/tool-water-service-delivery-low-resource-settings\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nicole M. Enzinger <\/strong>(Education) coauthored an article with George Fox alumna Kristina Hofer, titled \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Opportunities for redefining unconventional units,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d that was published in June in the journal <em>Mathematics Teacher: Learning and Teaching PK-12<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Terry Steele<\/strong> (Portland Seminary) had an article, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Beyond Immigrants as the Other: Relational Approaches to Global Ministry,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d accepted by the Evangelical Missiological Society National conference in October.
