The Nursing and Social Work departments are looking for volunteers to participate in our poverty simulation on Friday, Oct. 11<\/strong>, from 12:30 to 3 p.m.<\/strong> in Canyon Commons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event is required for social work and nursing students and is dependent upon volunteers to help be a part of the “community”. You will assume the role of a business owner or agency member (such as a grocery store clerk, pawn shop owner, DMV employee, etc.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No preparation is needed; a packet will be given to you at the event with all that you need to know. You will have the opportunity to watch the students as they take on the role of a family living in poverty and as they go through daily tasks with the added challenge of poverty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
