At the end of every school year, many students leave behind good, usable items, including blankets, clothing, kitchen supplies, small appliances, radios, room decorations, little tables, etc. In an effort to keep the dumpsters from overflowing and to be better stewards of the resources, Plant Services initiated Phase II. We are happy to receive anything that students do not want to take home.<\/p>\n
Barrels will be placed in the lobbies of the dorms and central living areas, as well as on the porches of Weesner, Beals, Hoskins, Munn, Wilder, Villa Road Houses and Newlin Apartments. Please do not donate damaged or soiled items<\/strong> or place trash in the barrels labeled “Phase II.”<\/strong> There are drop boxes for your trash located strategically on campus. By law, computers, monitors and TVs cannot go in the trash. They can be placed beside the barrels (please note if broken).<\/p>\n The items gathered are sorted and made available to student summer help and staff, but most of the items are given to different organizations in the local area, including Rescue Mission, Goodwill, unwed mothers’ homes, Love Inc., etc. Donated items will be stored at the Villa Academic Center’s rear section (500 Villa Road) and will be available to employees and summer students May 5.<\/p>\n Please use these barrels as you prepare to leave at the end of school.
