The Mercedes Weiss Service Award was established in 1976 to publicly acknowledge the outstanding contribution of members of the profession in one or more of the following areas: clinical practice, education, administration, research, and practice management.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Randy Woodley<\/strong> (Seminary) published a chapter, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Poverty and\u00c2\u00a0the Poor in North American Indigenous Traditions,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0in the book\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc-clio.com\/ABC-CLIOCorporate\/product.aspx?pc=A5084C\"><em>Poverty and the Poor in the World\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Religious Traditions: Religious Responses to the Problem of Poverty<\/em><\/a> (ABC-Clio\/Praeger Publishers).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jenny Song\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s<\/strong> (Department of Professional Studies and Portland Seminary) article, <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1177\/1542305018825052\">\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Understanding Face and Shame: A Servant-leadership and Face Management Model,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/a> was published online by <em>SAGE Journal of Pastoral Care and Counseling<\/em>. She also started working on another anthology \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Global Servant-Leadership: Wisdom, Love and Legitimate Power in the Age of Chaos \u00e2\u20ac\u201c with her colleagues Philip Mathew from Olympic College, Shann Ray Ferch from Gonzaga University, and Larry C.
